When someone tells you that the material for this project needs to be "sustainable" or built to LEED criteria where do you go and what do you use to establish if the lighting fixtures you are thinking of using meet your expectations or have some documentation to support the claim of the manufacturers.

If you are planning on using newer LED products you might look at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) which reviews the manufacturers' claims against DOE independent test.

You might look at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star rating of the fixtures you are considering using.

You might take into account the Cradle to Cradle rating of the manufacturer.

In this section of our web page we have gathered materials that should help you sort that out.
